My Philosophy
|
My favorite Bible verse is Micah 6:8 ,O people, the Lord has told you what is good,
and this is what he requires of you: to do what is right, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God. I keep my Grandmother's rocking chair in my office. It is my physical reminder of the values that were instilled in me as a child. I often imagine Jesus sitting in the chair gently rocking and asking me the simple question, "How well did I love in every situation.?" I do not think faith is any more complicated than answering that question in response to my daily living. |
What the church
|
One of my pet peeves is when someone says, "I am a good Christian." Good at what? Faith is not something you complete while you are on earth. It is an on going process. People who label themselves "good" are automatically comparing themselves to others they judge to be "bad." Truth be told, I believe that churches are full of professional sinners trying to change profession to become faithful disciples. It is a life long process! The beauty of church is not that we are perfect but that we are trying and supporting one another on life's journey.
